How to Get Rid of Unwanted Hair_ Hair Removal Options

What man or woman doesn’t have unwanted hair on their body? Just what sort of hair removal options are out there? Read about it in the article.

Whether it’s the beard, the upper lip, under arms, legs or the bikini area, unwanted hair seems to plague our lives. Just what sort of hair removal options are out there?

Shaving

Shaving is the quickest and easiest option of the lot, but in the long run it will actually take a whole lot more time to complete. It’s easy to step into the washroom and whisk off your hair with a razor, but depending on how quick your hair grows, you may very well need to shave again the next day, or even the same day for some if you plan on going out that evening. If your hair growth is slow, then shaving may be worth your while. But if you are a daily shaver, you may want to try one of the other options below.

Depilatory Creams/Hair Removal Creams

Hair Removal creams are also fairly quick. Most of these products can be slathered onto the area you would like the hair to be removed, and within 7-10 minutes the hair that you wanted removed has dissolved into nothing. Hair removal creams do last a lot longer than shaving (comparatively) but don’t believe those commercials that promise you 2 weeks of being hair free. If you have hair that grows back quickly, expect the hair to start poking through within 2-3 days.

Waxing

Waxing is torture, but waxing is one of the most effective ways of removing hair from our bodies for a long period of time. Waxing is inexpensive, it gets to the root of the hair follicle (which is why it takes longer for the hair to appear at the surface) and it may actually damage the hair follicle to the point where it is no longer able to produce hair (which would be desirable in this case). The downside? Waxing hurts! Ask any woman if she enjoyed her last bikini wax treatment and she’ll give you the same answer: NO!

Plucking

Plucking is really only effective for small areas, such as the eyebrows. If one were to pluck every hair from his or her leg, beard, or other area of skin, it would take them DAYS to complete the job! For small areas, such as eyebrows, above the lip, random chin hairs or mono-brows, plucking will do the job. Bear in mind, however, that the hair also has to be long enough to be grasped by tweezers to be plucked.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is the end-all to all of your hair removal problems – eventually. Many laser hair removal establishments will try to have you believe that your hair will not come back after a couple of treatments, but there’s a possibility of you needing to return up to 10 times to really permanently remove the hair from your body in the area you are having the laser hair removal.

Though this is expensive and time consuming compared to the other hair removal options, it is indeed permanent. So if you know you certainly do not want hair on your legs at any point during your life, laser hair removal may be the way to go.
